Owner of Be Seen Therapy. I've been in the therapy field for over 10 years and am an EMDR-certified therapist.
I live and work in Newport Beach and feel incredibly lucky to be able to help the community here. I enjoy bike riding and anything that has to do with the ocean. I have a big smile and believe laughter is life's best medicine.
But most importantly, I help people move through past traumas, ease their way through life transitions, improve relationships and reclaim the connection, freedom and happiness that we all deserve in life.
I specialize in treating issues such as trauma, anxiety, anger empowerment, grief and loss, religious trauma, neurodivergence and therapy for therapists.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I am trained in Level I & II of EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), which is an eight-phase modality that helps process "stuck" traumatic memories, both in the mind and the body, alleviating symptoms of PTSD.
Depression, fear, and anxiety/panic attacks are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Anger is a normal emotion just as is happiness, sadness, etc. It can spark change in the world, and when communicated effectively, can get needs met. It’s possible to learn what anger is, normalize it, create boundaries, and express it in a productive manner.
Grief counseling is not limited to sadness, but can also include feelings of shame, guilt, anger. Grief is the reaction to any kind of loss. It can come in waves and many individuals have different thoughts about their grief to make sense of it.
Religious trauma therapy focuses on addressing the emotional and psychological distress resulting from harmful or traumatic experiences within a religious or spiritual context. This therapy aims to help individuals heal from the negative effects of religious abuse, oppressive belief systems, or coercive religious groups, providing a safe and supportive space to process their experiences and regain a sense of autonomy and well-being.
In therapy for neurodivergent adults, the focus extends beyond traditional therapeutic approaches to accommodate the unique needs and perspectives of individuals with diverse neurological profiles. A person-centered approach is used to recognize and embrace the individual's neurodivergent integral aspects of their identity. Tailored interventions aim to enhance self-awareness, coping strategies, and social skills, fostering a supportive environment where clients feel understood and validated. Empowering neurodivergent adults to navigate challenges, build resilience, and celebrate their strengths. Additionally, working to address societal misconceptions and stigmas surrounding neurodivergence, promoting inclusivity and advocating for a more neurodiverse-informed society.
Specializing in therapy for therapists brings a unique and nuanced understanding of the challenges inherent in the counseling profession. Therapy provides a supportive space where fellow therapists can explore the intricacies of their work. Therapy for therapists' address burnout, compassion fatigue, and the emotional toll of the therapeutic process, in addition to the loneliness that can be felt in our profession. Therapy involves navigating the complexities of the profession, fostering personal growth, and cultivating resilience. This important work helps contribute to the well-being and professional development of fellow mental health professionals, ensuring they can continue to provide high-quality care to their clients.
