Madeleine Olsen is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who creates a warm, collaborative therapeutic environment where clients can explore their authentic selves while navigating life's complexities.
With specialized expertise in young adulthood challenges, life transitions, and relationship issues, she brings a unique understanding of identity development and the courage required to make meaningful life changes. Madeleine particularly enjoys working with young adults who are navigating the complexities of early adulthood, identity formation, and relationships, as well as clients experiencing major life transitions such as starting new careers, ending relationships, or redefining their sense of self.
Her therapeutic approach integrates Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered principles, and Existential frameworks. This comprehensive methodology allows her to honor each client's unique story while helping them develop deeper self-understanding and clarity about their values and desires. Madeleine's approach is fundamentally collaborative, viewing therapy as a journey where the client's voice and experience guide the process, ensuring that treatment feels both authentic and empowering to each individual she serves.
With a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University and having completed EMDR basic training, Madeleine brings strong academic foundations combined with diverse clinical experience working with clients across the entire age spectrum, from children to seniors. Her educational background has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of human development and evidence-based therapeutic interventions, while her broad experience with different populations provides her with the flexibility and insight needed to adapt her approach to meet each client's unique developmental and situational needs.
Outside the therapy room, Madeleine finds peace and grounding through simple, mindful activities that reflect her belief in the importance of slowing down and connecting with the present moment. She enjoys baking, pottery, and knitting—creative pursuits that help her unwind while engaging in the meditative process of creating something meaningful with her hands. Madeleine also finds clarity and balance through spending time in nature and running, activities that provide her with peaceful ways to recharge and maintain the emotional presence she brings to her therapeutic work.
Madeleine's deep belief in the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful growth enables her to build trust, safety, and mutual respect with clients, creating the strong foundation necessary for authentic healing and lasting change.
Her collaborative approach to therapy ensures that each client's voice, experience, and individual pace guide the therapeutic process, making treatment feel genuinely tailored, authentic, and empowering rather than prescriptive or one-size-fits-all.
Madeleine's commitment to creating a warm, non-judgmental therapeutic environment allows clients to feel fully seen and heard, fostering the safety needed for open exploration of thoughts and feelings that leads to deeper self-awareness and resilience.
"I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. I feel honored to walk alongside clients as they navigate life's challenges, deepen self-understanding, and move toward growth and healing."
